Has politics gone to the dogs?Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium is hosting its very own election night in a bid to predict the outcome of the May 6th General Election.
The night will take place on Saturday 1st May and see race goers have the opportunity to bet on dogs representing political parties.

A Christmas ‘Hare Do’ A Birmingham venue popular for works’ Christmas Parties has enlisted the help of a human behavioural specialist to help party organisers who are dealing with friends and colleagues who really don’t want to party.
For more than 20 years, Hall Green Stadium has been hosting corporate and family celebrations but has noticed, particularly in works’ groups the occasional ‘reluctant reveller’.

200th Race for Poster PoochA greyhound from Perry Barr Stadium made famous on publicity posters around Birmingham ran its 200th race at the weekend. The 5 year old dog, named Charter Serina, was chosen to feature in a poster campaign in the summer, alongside racing manager at the track Martin Seal. The pair were taking part in a promotion highlighting positive elements of life in parts of inner city Birmingham and featured in a high profile campaign by housing market renewal agency Urban Living to promote the regeneration of key sites in North West Birmingham and hidden local stars.

X Factor Sensation is Bonfire SparklerLaura White the X Factor sensation has been announced as the headline act for bonfire night entertainment at Hall Green stadium. On Thursday November 5th live music and fireworks will replace greyhound racing as Hall Green hosts the only large bonfire night event to take place on November 5th, rather than the nearest weekend evening.

Fireworks advice for petsFirework season is here and things are set to get nosier as bonfire night approaches. Hall Green Stadium, normally home to greyhound racing is giving over the stadium to a firework display on November 5th and in advance of that, managers at the stadium have issued recommendations from the Retired Greyhound Trust on minimising the possible effects of fireworks on greyhounds and other pets;

Local tennis pro goes to the dogsA community tennis club plans to take its fundraising to the dogs, with a visit to Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium. Hamstead Diamonds Tennis Club works with youngsters from across north Birmingham, providing tennis coaching and facilities and needs to constantly raise funds for coaching, equipment and the running of after school clubs.

Dogs policy change means pensioners go freeSenior greyhound racing fans have reason to celebrate in Birmingham as the city’s two dog tracks announce the abolition of entry fees for pensioners. Bosses at Hall Green and Perry Barr decided to give their older visitors free entry to allow them more disposable cash for their night out.
