A greyhound at Perry Barr Stadium has won the 100th race of his career at the age of 6 ½ . Sawpit Sonata, was racing in an evening of sponsorship for the Retired Greyhound Trust, the organisation that re-homes greyhounds after their racing careers have ended.
Stadium Manager, Carol Chown-Smith said; “Everyone was excited to see Sawpit Sonata win. Because it was a fundraising evening for retired greyhounds, there were many people here who knew the dog and its trainer, David Hunt. David has a good reputation amongst his peers and although it’s unusual for greyhounds this old to still be racing, it’s no surprise that one that is, and is still winning, comes from David Hunt’s kennels.”
