Seven sprightly staff will swap their office for the outdoors in Birmingham as part of the nationwide Race for Life.
The team of women from Conference Aston will be wearing lots of pink when they take part in the Cancer Research fundraiser at Cannon Hill Park on June 25.
And they revealed the secret of their training was shopping - a long walk to the shops at lunchtime to be precise.
The team, who all work for Aston University's portfolio of specialist conference and meeting venues based in the city centre, will be among more than 100 staff from Aston University who are taking part.
Some will be running the 5km challenge and some walking, but all have been caught up in a wave of enthusiasm for healthy activities.
The team is made up of Maureen Wood, Mary Bebb, Kasia Czarnecka, Caroline Turner, Victoria Allnatt, Vikki Johnston and Alex Pagan, who said they were looking forward to taking part.
"There are quite a few of us in the office whose lives have been touched by cancer, with someone we know suffering from it," Alex said.
"We will be wearing pink and looking a bit silly but it is a really good cause to support and we are all buzzing about it in the office."
Alex added: "We keep planning to train together but we are practising by going on a long walk to the shops at lunchtime – it's the best way to train!"
Conference Aston offers a range of specialist meeting venues for corporate clients and boasts restaurants providing quality, locally-sourced food for up to 300 diners.
Race for Life is Cancer Research UK's flagship event that has grown to become the UK's largest women-only fundraising event.
